It's been so terribly long since I've done a straight-up Jude update. What to say? What's not to say, he's changing so quickly. The baby is quickly disappearing :( My one consolation is that a pretty terrific little boy is taking his place. To remain in babydom for a minute, I'll give his stats. It's funny that that's really the only update when they are infants, but now it's something I rarely think of. Actually, I just realized that I only know his weight- at 18 months he was 28 lbs. As such, he gained 16 pounds his first nine months of life, and 4 pounds his second nine months of life. Ha! At his check-up he was 75th percentile weight, 75th percentile height, and 75th percentile head. Proportional! A first! I'm happy that entering the normal range, it was tiring having such a freakishly large baby. With the way he is eating lately however, not sure we're not heading back there. What else? I don't mean to brag, but he speaks perfect gibberish. He has a large vocabularly of English words- so boring- (just kidding it's pretty much favorite thing) but when it comes to speaking in sentences, he has a language all is own. And it's very convincing.
On a daily basis I have a "wait, you can't possibly know that" moment with him. Isn't it nice to have a mommy who has so much confidence in you, Jude? Like this morning he picked up the letter "O" and said "O." huh? I was certain it was a fluke until he later pointed at "S" and said, you guessed it, "S." He does have a bit of an obsession with letters including his belief that any and all should sing the alphabet song whenver he requests it, so I guess it makes sense that he would actually learn the letters. Still surprises me.

Here's Jude learning about magnifying glasses at Star K Kids (a nature program we enjoy). At least he won't be burning up ants anytime soon:
