An (un)employment update for all. Doesn't that sound fun? After returning to Aurora (let's be real, we don't live in Denver even if I always say we do) in January, Mark and I both got job offers the first week we were back. They same day actually. And we both accepted. I was so excited about my job, even if the actual work didn't merit much fanfare (clerical stuff), and it did turn out to be perfect. just perfect. But as you may recall from a few sentences back, Mark had a new job too. That's where things got complicated. After a decently in-depth search for childcare, we couldn't put together anything that made sense. For each of our ideas there was either a location issue, a financial issue, or a quality-of-care issue. We had one place that looked pretty promising , but we just couldn't bring ourselves to leave Jude to be eaten by Billy the biter. The problem was that obvious. So instead of both of us working for minimum wage, Mark will be going it alone. He was hired as a First Officer with Skywest Airlines, probably flying out of Fresno, CA or Salt Lake. We will be hanging tight in Denver, opps Aurora, as he clings on to the bottom of a new senority list in another city. If going backwards is the new moving forward, we're all over it.
