My parents very generously gave us their mini-van last month (fitting gift for turning 30, don't you think?) Now all we had to do was get it home to Colorado. With a restless toddler who quickly cries "uppies" translation, "up, please" after 15 minutes in his carseat, I was nervous. really nervous. But the trip turned out to be something I never expected: fun. I can only credit Jude's happy, calm, easy-riding self to the prayers of those who love us. Thank you for your prayers! Miraculously, and it truly was, Jude maybe fussed a total of 5 minutes over a 32+ hour drive. We almost kept driving.
We covered McDonald's playplaces across nine states. There's an app for that. We had our fill of crouching in those hamster tunnels, but now that Jude can finally do the equipment himself, we're taken to visiting all the McDonalds and Chick-F-las that the Denver Metro area has to offer. Will spring ever arrive?
A highlight of our trip was staying at the Grand Bear Lodge in somewhere, Illinois. This place is a perfectknockoff replica of the "Great Wolf" chain with it's indoor, but outdoor themed, waterpark. Jude loves any water feature that squirts, soaks, slams or otherwise pummels him. If we ever do the CO-NY drive again, this will be our halfway point.

That waterpark looks like a blast! I love the picture of Mandy and Jude on the carousel, new background on my computer. Miss you guys so much! Can't wait to skype!
Love the blurb and the video/pictures...you are "livin' the life!"
Do you remember looking for those play places when we traveled with Timmy and Debby? I do.
I love your comment about your neck veins :) And by the way, I never would have noticed without your funny comment.
Way to go, Jude--I think I would have whined/fussed a lot more than 5 minutes if I had to ride in a car for 32 hours. You are a better person than me.
And allow me to reiterate that we miss you guys!
love the pics. Jude is having the time of his life!
