Saturday morning I didn't have a plan for our day. So I did what any logical person would do, I asked my 20 month old for his take on the situation. It went something like this:
Me: Jude, where would you like to go today?
Jude: Daddy
Me: Sorry buddy, we can't go visit daddy because he is busy working. Where else would you like to go?
Jude: Iowa
Me: Still? Where else?
Jude: Moon
And I haven't even begun the "dream big, my child" phase of parental indoctrination.
A little while later we were outside when Jude spotted, and shrieked "bus!" at the city bus. Wham, yes, that's what we'll do today, ride the bus. And we were very successful- getting there. We spent a lovely hour at Petco, where, sadly, the guinea pigs are no longer "puppies" in Jude's eyes and the birds are no longer "planes" but since the Ferrets are "cats" I'm still smiling. I hurried us back to the bus stop in order to catch the last bus of the day. We waited. and waited. and started to wonder. I decided that if the bus didn't come by 6:30pm (it was supposed to come at 6:10pm) it must not be coming and I'd better start walking in order to keep our sunlight. It didn't come. It didn't come until I was about 6 minutes out and on the wrong side of the road to flag it down. And that, ladies and gentleman, is how I got my first long walk- I dunno, 4 miles?- in many months.
As I was putting Jude to bed that night I asked him what we should do tomorrow. His answer "park." Because mommy can't be trusted with much more than that...

Jude is growing up so much! Isn't it sad when they learn the correct terms for things after sweetly mistaking them for so long? I'd love to hear a conversation between Jude and Ellis :)
Oh that is so funny Amanda! I miss you all so much!! Keep enjoying every minute with Jude. You are such a wonderful mom! Thanks from grandma glynda, aka GG.
Moon is the best answer. I wanna go to the moon too Jude. Someday we will make it there...
