The Look

And the winner of the Friendliest Child Award goes to...

This cell-phone shot doesn't quite capture it, but Jude has developed one heck of an stare-down.  I have no idea where he got it ("pleeeze, that's what all parents say")  but he greets both people he knows and strangers with equal disdain.   I was mortified when I caught him giving the evil eye-through furrowed brow-at the poor man behind us in line at Costco.  Snarl included. The man responded as though to rabid dog: he tried to make nice through his nervous giggle and slowly backed away.  A couple days later Jude took three people down in one stare.  There was a collective "what?!"  from that group, followed by hysterical laughter.  Jude then broke out laughing as well. I laughed too.  phew.

Be-friending his classmates with "The Look."  (note: the boy sitting just behind him is also "Jude."  It's the only repeat name in the whole class actually.  Just when you think you're being original....)
