Who knew that being kicked in the gut would be one of my favorite life experiences? Baby made himself known this week, proving that those ultrasound pics must have indeed been of a person inside me. I do have intentionally in saying "he" right now as that's what my "mother's intuition" is telling me. It used to be a girl, somehow it's now a boy :) Funny that this week I've gotten more stories from women who "just knew" what they were having. In general, I've missed the whole "just knowing" thing in life, there's very little I've "just known." ever. sorry for the detour.
I felt the kicks for the first time early, early, Tuesday morning. Being in a sleep stupor, I didn't think about it till later that evening when driving home from work. At that point I wondered if I had really felt what I thought I did. Doing a mental process-of-elimination I concluded that that really must have been it. Upon waking up Wednesday morning, I was being kicked again. hooray! "pop" "pop" "pop" baby was ready for the day! On Thursday evening I was sitting on the couch with Mark feeling the itty-bitty blows again. For the first time it dawned on me to look. With both of us staring at my belly, we saw the pops. my belly was moving. Mark then felt the kicks. amazing. Either I was completely checked-out for the past few weeks (nothing new) or the baby really came on strong. Either way, I suppose, just adds to my strange pregnancy timeline: First feeling of kicks, first sighting of kicks and first papa feeling of kicks all within 3 days. par for the course.
So that's my Saturday post. I love, love, being kicked in the gut. It's a whole new level of God's grace in our lives. and it's just really fun to be carrying a little, and quite active, person inside me.

I'm SO excited for you! I loved that part of pregnancy! I can't believe Mark was able to feel, too. I was feeling Ellis move around for quite awhile before Gabe was able to feel her kicks and jabs. So fun!
