Betcha never seen this before

On June 13th my sisters-in-law extraordinaire threw us a family-style shower in Gig Harbor, WA. It was wonderful. More pics to come from that soon, for now I'm highlighting the cake. The lovely Deb Barrett crafted this pretty unreal cake. She made our wedding cake as well, which of course is what really got me: being the creator of both our wedding cake and our baby shower cake. such a sentimentalist I am.

As you may have deduced, cake is a aviation/baby theme. Being that Deb's husband, Doug, is a retired Northwest Captain, this cake had all the nuances of flight (not that I caught them all).

Preflight Checklist

Runway Pattern

Airport Terminal (the actual, edible, cake)

The Captain. note the baby

You are cleared for landing

Cutting the cake (not that you can tell) with Deb.
